Add Timestamp to Video

Introduction

This free tool can help you add a date and time stamp or timecode to your video files. The tool supports various video files, such as MP4, AVI, M4V, MKV, MOV, WMV and more. With the "Time" option, you can set the start time of timestamp, if you select the default value "Default", the tool will try to detect and read the "Creation Time" from the video metadata and use it as the start time, if the tool is unable to read the "Creation Time" from the video metadata, the current time will be used. With the "Format" option, you can select the format in which the timestamp is displayed. With the "Text" option, you can add more information before or after the date and time. The output format is MP4 video.

How To Use

1. Select a "Video" file (such as *.mp4, *.3gp, *.asf, *.avi, *.divx, *.m2ts, *.m4v, *.mkv, *.mov, *.mpeg, *.mts, *.rm, *.rmvb, *.vob, *.webm, *.wmv and more).
2. Select a value in the "Time" option and enter a start time if necessary.
3. Select a value in the "Format" option.
4. Click the "Convert" button to start uploading your files.
5. Once the upload is complete, the converter will redirect a web page to display the conversion results.

Time Options

• Default, the tool will try to detect and read the "Creation Time" in the video metadata, if it exists it will be used as the start time, otherwise the current time will be used.
• Custom, you can manullay set the date and time to be used as the start time of the timestamp, the desired values depend on the values you select in the "Format" option.

Format Options

• "Month Day, Year", e.g. December 1, 2025, full month name
• "Mon Day, Year", e.g. Dec 1, 2025, abbreviated month name
• Month/Day/Year, e.g. 12/1/2025
• Day/Month/Year, e.g. 1/12/2025
• Year/Month/Day, e.g. 2025/12/1
• No Date, not shown date
• Hour:Minute:Second AM/PM, 12-hour, e.g. 08:00:00 PM
• Hour:Minute:Second, 24-hour, e.g. 20:00:00
• Hour:Minute AM/PM, 12-hour, e.g. 08:00 PM
• Hour:Minute, 24-hour, e.g. 20:00
• Minute:Second, if you select the "Custom" value in the "Time" option and set the time to "00:00:00", the tool will show 00:00, 00:01, 00:02 ...... , and so on, just like a digital clock.
• No Time, not shown time

Text Options

• None, no more text shown
• Before Time, display the text first, then the date and time.
• After Time, display the date and time first, then the text.
• The "Text" can only contain letters, numbers and some punctuation marks (a-z, A-Z, 0-9, comma, dot, underscores, dashes and spaces)
• The maximum length of text is 30 characters.
• Related options include "Font Size", "Font Style" and "Font Color".

Position Options

• Fixed, added text or image will be static and fixed, The supported positions include "Center", "Top-Left", "Top-Middle", "Top-Right", "Left-Middle", "Right-Middle", "Bottom-Left", "Bottom-Middle", "Bottom-Right". The "Margin" option have two values, the first is vertical and the second is horizontal, which will help you adjust the position more precisely.
• Random, added text or image will displayed randomly. The "Time" option can help you control the time between each text or image appearance.
• Move, added text or image will move smoothly from one position to another. The supported positions include "Left to Right (Middle)", "Left to Right (Top)", "Left to Right (Bottom)", "Right to Left (Middle)", "Right to Left (Top)", "Right to Left (Bottom)", "Top to Bottom (Middle)", "Top to Bottom (Left)", "Top to Bottom (Right)", "Bottom to Top (Middle)", "Bottom to Top (Left)", "Bottom to Top (Right)", "Top-Left to Bottom-Right", "Top-Right to Bottom-Left", "Bottom-Left to Top-Right", "Bottom-Right to Top-Left". • The maximum upload file size is 200 MB.
